Smart Power Solutions is based in the thriving city of Leeds in the UK and was founded in 2001 by two power electronics engineers who still 100% own and manage the company. We specialise in the design and manufacture of intelligent high-efficiency power electronics system for a diverse range of applications including electric vehicles, smart grid and low carbon generation.
We are currently expanding our team and are looking for degree (or higher) qualified electronics hardware and embedded software development engineers. Knowledge of all or some of the following would be a particular advantage: Power semiconductors and support circuitry over a wide range of voltages and currents, power switching topologies for both motor drives and static power conversion, signal level design of both analogue and digital circuitry for measurement/control/protection, design for safety / EMC / Manufacture, PCB design using Mentor PADS, simulation of circuit and system behaviour using SPICE, PLECS, SIMULINK and MathCAD, programming embedded processors using C and assembly languages, Microchip dsPIC digital signal controllers, CAN bus and other comminications interfaces and typical ISO9001 quality systems / processes.
On the manufacturing side of the business we are also looking for production operatives with experience and skills in the following: conventional component soldering, box build and cable harness assembly, SMD rework and prototype assembly, mechanical assembly and high current electrical cable / panel build work.
